Release Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Release Manager who combines strong technical coordination skills with excellent communication and business awareness. This role involves overseeing the planning, scheduling, coordination, and deployment of software releases across multiple teams and environments. The ideal candidate will not only ensure smooth and compliant delivery of software products and infrastructure updates but also engage closely with business stakeholders to understand priorities, align delivery with business objectives, and clearly communicate release impacts and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the release calendar across the IT portfolio, aligning with development, testing, operations, and business teams.
- Coordinate release content and effort based on service requests, change tickets, project timelines, and stakeholder inputs.
- Develop and maintain release processes, tools, and documentation to ensure repeatability and efficiency.
- Conduct release readiness reviews, milestones, and Go/No-Go meetings.
- Communicate release status, schedules, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
- Manage and mitigate release-related risks and resolve conflicts between teams and timelines.
- Ensure releases are auditable and compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
- Collaborate with Change Management to ensure all changes are documented and approved.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and tools, integrating release automation and deployment best practices.
- Continuously improve release management processes based on lessons learned and feedback.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT Release Management or related roles.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with release automation tools and version control systems (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and change/release management practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
- ITIL, PMP, or Agile/Scrum certifications.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Background in enterprise-level environments with complex integration and multiple development streams.
